OUR SERVICES
Three Services, One Steady Firm
Whether you are setting a will in place, dealing with an estate after a loss, or working through a disagreement with family — we have the legal support for each step.
Back to HomeHow We Approach Estate Work
Each matter is handled with the same basic principles: transparency at the start, clear communication throughout, and an outcome that makes practical sense for the family.
Initial Consultation
We discuss your situation in plain terms. You leave with a clear picture of what is involved, what the options are, and what we would charge — without any obligation to proceed.
Written Agreement
If you decide to engage us, we set out the scope and fee in writing before any work begins. Nothing proceeds without your written confirmation.
Steady Progress
We manage the work and keep you informed at each stage with written updates. If anything unexpected comes up, we let you know before it affects the plan or the cost.
SERVICE 01
Will Preparation
A will drawn up carefully and in clear terms gives a family far less to deal with later. We draft wills that reflect what you actually want, in language that can be understood without a law degree. We take the time to explain each part before you sign, and there is no expectation that you finalise at the first sitting.
The process suits both simple and more complex estates. We note where faraid principles apply alongside civil distribution, and we flag any parts of the estate that may need a different arrangement.
- Drafted to reflect your specific family situation
- Plain-language summary provided alongside the legal document
- Faraid and civil distribution considerations noted
- Executor appointment and guidance included
Typical steps
Initial consultation to discuss estate and wishes
Draft prepared and sent for review
Meeting to review and discuss each clause
Amendments and signing at your pace
Typical steps
Asset and liability identification
Court application for letters of administration
Creditor notifications and estate accounts
Distribution to beneficiaries and final reporting
SERVICE 02
Letters of Administration
When a person dies without a will, the family cannot access or distribute the estate without first obtaining letters of administration from the court. The process involves several formal steps and can take months without the right help. We manage the entire application — documents, court filings, creditor notifications, and final distribution — so the family does not have to learn an unfamiliar system at a difficult time.
Fees are set out in full before any work begins. We send written updates at each stage and let you know if anything needs your input.
- Full court application handled in-house
- Asset and liability review included
- Creditor and government notifications managed
- Supports both civil and faraid distribution
SERVICE 03
Inheritance Dispute Resolution
Family disagreements over an estate are more common than most people expect — and they tend to become harder to resolve the longer they run. We provide legal support where relatives are in conflict over a will, over how an estate should be divided, or over who should administer it.
Where the situation allows, we aim for a mediated outcome. This is usually faster and less damaging to family relationships than a court dispute. Where litigation is necessary, we advise clearly on what that involves and represent our clients with care.
- Mediation explored before litigation recommended
- Advice on faraid and civil entitlements
- Representation in negotiations and court if needed
- Sensitive handling of family dynamics throughout
Typical steps
Review of estate and nature of dispute
Legal position assessment and options explained
Mediation or negotiation with other parties
Formal settlement or court proceedings if needed
