CLIENT EXPERIENCES
What Families Have Said
Inheritance matters affect families at one of the hardest points in their lives. These are some accounts of how working with Pusaka Chambers went for them.

"I came in not knowing the first thing about letters of administration. My father had passed without a will and we had no idea how to access his accounts or his house. The team at Pusaka Chambers explained each step in a way I could actually follow, and they dealt with all the court filings. It took about eight months in total, which they warned us about from the start. I would not have managed it on my own."
"We had a disagreement among siblings over how our late mother's house should be divided. It was uncomfortable for everyone. Pusaka Chambers helped us work through it — they explained our entitlements under faraid clearly, and suggested a mediated arrangement that three of us could agree to. It was not perfectly smooth, but it was far better than going to court. The main thing I noticed was that the lawyer was patient with us even when our conversations got tense."
"I came to prepare a will, which I had been putting off for years. The consultation was calm and thorough — I was not pushed to make decisions on the spot and was given time to think. The fee was exactly what they told me it would be."
"My uncle passed without a will and the estate included both a property and shares. Sorting out the administration took time, but Pusaka Chambers handled the whole thing — they were clear about timelines and sent written updates regularly. I appreciated not having to follow up constantly to find out where things stood."
"I needed a will drafted and wanted to understand how faraid would interact with what I was setting out. They were one of the only firms I contacted who could explain both clearly in the same meeting. The process was uncomplicated and the fee was reasonable."
"My family had a complicated dispute after my father's estate. There were four siblings and we could not agree. Pusaka Chambers helped us reach a settlement that all parties signed off on, without going to court. It still took some months and some difficult conversations, but we got there."
How We Have Helped
Summaries of three different estate matters, shared in general terms.
No will, two properties, four beneficiaries
A family in Klang contacted us after losing their father. He had no will. The estate included a house and a unit trust. The four children were unsure of their faraid shares and did not know how to start the administration process.
We identified all estate assets and liabilities, confirmed faraid shares applicable to each beneficiary, filed for letters of administration at the High Court, managed creditor notifications, and coordinated the final property and unit trust transfers.
Administration completed in 9 months. Both assets transferred to beneficiaries according to faraid entitlements. Family expressed relief that the process was handled without conflict.
Will disputed by one sibling
A family in Subang Jaya had a valid will in place, but one sibling disputed its terms, claiming undue influence in the drafting process. The matter had been unresolved for over a year before they came to us.
We reviewed the will and the claim in detail, advised on the legal merits of both positions, and arranged a mediated meeting. We helped draft a settlement agreement that adjusted certain distributions with the agreement of all parties.
Settlement reached without court proceedings. Signed agreement within six weeks of mediation. All siblings confirmed the resolution was acceptable, and distribution proceeded under the adjusted terms.
Will preparation for a self-employed couple
A couple in Shah Alam with three adult children and a small business wanted to set wills in place. They had several assets — EPF, a property in joint names, a vehicle, and business equity — and were unsure how each would be treated under a will.
We explained how each asset type interacts with a will under Malaysian law, noted which assets fall outside will distribution (such as EPF nominations), and drafted separate wills for each spouse reflecting their individual wishes for the remaining assets.
Two wills prepared, reviewed, and signed within three weeks. Both clients said they found the explanation of asset types particularly useful, as they had not been aware that certain assets are not governed by a will.
